Resources

A growing library of practical tools, essays, and reflective resources

This page gathers together the public-facing resources connected to my work on practical wisdom, character, virtue, coaching, moral psychology, and education.

Please note: these resources are part of my own public-facing work. They are separate from my role as Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham and separate from the MA in Character Education. If you are looking for consultancy, training, mentoring, or evaluation support for character education or ethics, this is handled through characterED, the consultancy arm of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues.

Ideas in development

These are possible resources I may develop, depending on what readers and members find useful.

  • Personal-context reflection.

What would help you?

I am still deciding what to build next. Rather than guessing in splendid isolation, I would like to hear from readers and members about what would actually be useful.

  • Would you use printable worksheets?
  • Would short coaching prompts be helpful?
  • Would you prefer interactive tools, downloadable PDFs, or longer essays?
  • Are there particular dilemmas, virtues, or coaching situations you would like resources for?

Future access

For now, the emphasis is on public writing and free member resources. Depending on what people find useful, I may later introduce an additional member tier with more developed resources.

If that happens, I want it to be shaped by genuine demand rather than by inventing a paywall first and a purpose afterwards.

A note on boundaries: this resource area is not a substitute for the MA in Character Education at the University of Birmingham, nor does it provide access to MA teaching materials. It is also not the consultancy route for schools, organisations, or institutions. For consultancy, training, mentoring, or evaluation support, please visit characterED. This page is a public-facing space for my own writing, tools, and resources.

Free members can access selected resources such as the Practical Wisdom Deliberation Tool. Future resources will be shaped by what readers and members tell me would be genuinely useful.
